The chip we are using is EFR32FG23 Sub-GHz Wireless SoC from silicon Lab, which supports 802.15.4 g/e. It is an ideal solution for sub-GHz IoT wireless connectivity for smart home, security, lighting, and metering.
Our gateway provides end-to-end solution-enabling and easy cloud connections which operate over a wide frequency range, including 315, 433, 470, 868, 915, 928 and 960 MHz in the license-free industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) frequency bands, based on proprietary modulations as FSK/GFSK/OOKn/MSK.

Sub GHz networks are particularly suitable for IoT applications due to their long range and low power consumption. Single-chip solutions for sub-GHz networks are widely available at low cost.
WiFi transmitters have a typical range of up to approximately 50 meters (150 feet) indoors and up to 100 meters (300 feet) outdoors. Bluetooth has a shorter range, typically only transmitting about 10 meters (30 feet) indoors.
In contrast, sub-GHz networks can easily reach hundreds of meters indoors and, depending on conditions, several kilometers (miles) outdoors.
Sub GHz is the ideal wireless technology for low-cost, robust and low-power sensor networks such as measurement, smart home and smart city applications. Sub-GHz networks offer a longer range and lower power consumption than the more well-known WiFi and Bluetooth protocols.
WiFi as well as Bluetooth both use the very same 2.4 Ghz band everywhere in the world. Nonetheless, the bands used for sub-GHz networking are different in different countries.
